200+ volunteers each donate time in advance of Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium

Lee’s Summit, Mo. (Oct. 28, 2019) – GEHA, Inc. (Government Employees Health Association) is proud to announce a $10,000 donation to Cornerstones of Care, a regional behavioral health care organization committed to creating safe and healthy communities. The donation is made possible through more than 1,000 GEHA employee-donated volunteer hours completed on October 27. Nearly 200 GEHA employees volunteered five hours of their time at Arrowhead Stadium to benefit Cornerstones of Care as part of GEHA’s Presenting Partnership of Sunday’s game.

“Our employees were excited to take part of the game day energy at Arrowhead, in support of a cause that aligns with GEHA’s values,” said Dianna Sleyster, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, GEHA. “Joining forces with the Chiefs continues to provide an incredible opportunity for us to make a positive difference - with our members, employees, community and beyond. We’re proud to support an organization that the Chiefs also support.”

GEHA employee volunteers were working throughout Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to gift fans a Patrick Mahomes-inspired headband as they entered the game.

“Community partners, like GEHA, help us create safe and healthy communities for our children and families. As a leader in health care, GEHA knows the importance of healing communities - their support is a strong endorsement of our mission and the trust they have in us to protect the children and families we serve across Chiefs Kingdom,” said Denise Cross, President/CEO, Cornerstones of Care. “This generous donation will help Cornerstones of Care continue to meet the unique needs of children and families who have experienced trauma. We are proud to have GEHA on our winning team of community champions in support of children and families!”
