Information for Massachusetts Members

Massachusetts health care reform law requires Massachusetts residents
age 18 and over to have health insurance, if it is affordable for them, and
provide proof of insurance coverage when submitting their 2007 state tax
returns to the Department of Revenue. Schedule HC, Health Care Information, must
be completed by all full-year residents to determine the amount of their
personal exemptions. This schedule must also be completed by taxpayers who
moved to Massachusetts before October 31, 2007 or were part-year residents by the end of 2007.
If you have a dependent who will be filing separately, that dependent will
also need to file a Schedule HC form with his or her tax return.
For more information about the requirement, please see the Massachusetts
Department of Revenue website at http://www.mass.gov/.
For questions regarding your insurance, please contact Government Employees Health
Association, Inc. (GEHA) at (800) 821-6136.
