Starting in 2020, UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus will replace Aetna Signature Administrators as GEHA’s provider network in Florida.

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. If you have Medicare A & B primary, your medical benefits will not be affected. In most instances, you get the same benefits whether you use providers in the GEHA network or out-of-network.
  2. Many of the preferred providers in the current network will also be in the new network for 2020. It’s a good idea to ask your health care providers, including hospitals, if they are in the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus network.
  3. If you have a chronic or disabling condition, you may continue to see your current network specialist and receive our network benefits for up to 90 days after you receive this notice; GEHA provides out-of-network benefits for out-of-network specialists after the 90-day period expires.
  4. If you are in the second or third trimester of pregnancy, you may continue to see your current network specialist and receive our network benefits through the end of post-partum care.
  5. You’ll receive new GEHA ID cards containing the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus logo in the mail in November. Please begin using these new ID cards on January 1, 2020.
  6. GEHA’s Find Care tool has been updated with our 2020 health care providers. Visit geha.com/Find-Care to see which providers are in the new network.
