GEHA toy drive with KC Chiefs and Marines

GEHA | November 14, 2020

GEHA presented a Toys for Tots drive in collaboration with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Marines during the Chiefs bye week in November.

“GEHA is proud to be a partner of The Kansas City Chiefs and enjoy partnering on initiatives that give back to our community,” said Chief People Officer Aileen Wilkins. “We became aware of the Chiefs longstanding affiliation with Toys for Tots – now in its 55th year – and wanted to provide Kansas Citians with the option to donate a toy, in addition to the virtual fundraising campaign.”

Cars lined up bright and early in front of historic Union Station, filled with participants eager to donate a toy to a child in need.

Representatives from the Chiefs, GEHA, Union Station and the Marines collected new toys from vehicles as part of a socially distanced, drive-through toy drive. To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, attendees remained in their vehicles at all times. Loads of toys were collected and kept safe from the cold and rainy weather thanks to a van on loan from Madden-McFarland Interior Design.

The first 100 cars to donate an item received a swag bag with complimentary items from GEHA, the Kansas City Chiefs and Union Station’s businesses. Monetary donations can be made online at chiefs.com/ToysForTots
