GEHA has announced Darren Taylor as President and Chief Executive Officer. Taylor had been serving as GEHA’s interim President and CEO since October 2018 and was previously in the position of Chief Operating Officer.
“Darren was selected to lead the organization because of his strong industry knowledge, success as a business manager and thoughtful, effective leadership style," GEHA’s Board of Directors said in a statement. "He has demonstrated the expertise and ability to lead GEHA forward in a dynamic health care environment in a way that will best serve our members.”
“I am honored to lead this remarkable team and organization and am grateful for the Board’s confidence,” Taylor said. “This is an exciting time of change and growth in the industry, and GEHA has many strengths to build upon as we help our members live the lives they want through better health.”
Taylor brings more than 26 years of health care industry experience to the role. Before joining GEHA in 2017, he was president and founder of a health care analytics company. Taylor spent the first 20 years of his career in various leadership roles with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. A life-long Kansas City area resident, he currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Mid-America Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
