Federal Government Shutdown Update
We are monitoring the federal government shutdown that began on Oct. 1, 2025. Our team remains focused on providing continuity of care and resources for our members during this time.
G.E.H.A was founded when a group of Railway Postal clerks began passing the hat to help one another in times of need. As G.E.H.A has grown to serve more than 2 million members nationwide, we have stayed true to our values. We are prioritizing your needs.
- You will have full access to your health benefits throughout the shutdown, including mental health resources through MDLIVE.
- During the shutdown, claims will still process as usual.
- Our members and their health and wellness are important to us, and we encourage you to use your benefits as you normally would. You can locate available providers at geha.com/Find-Care.
- Please visit our website for the latest updates. You may also login to your member portal for information.
- If you normally only receive G.E.H.A emails to your work address and are currently affected by the shutdown without access to your work email, we suggest you update your contact info in your member portal profile to continue receiving important communications from G.E.H.A to a personal email address.
Thank you for being a G.E.H.A member.
