The power of prevention starts with your primary care provider (PCP)

G.E.H.A | November 19, 2025

Why regular checkups matter — even when you feel fine.

Why building a relationship with your PCP matters

Seeing your doctor regularly is one of the best ways to stay healthy. These visits help detect health problems early, when they're easier to treat.

Your primary care provider (PCP) is your partner in managing your health. They can:

  • Find common illnesses early, like colds and the flu
  • Track your health over time
  • Make sure your medicines and treatments are right for you

When your doctor knows your health history, they can provide care that truly fits your needs and goals.

Getting bloodwork once a year helps your doctor see what's normal for you. It can also show areas where you might need to make changes — like lowering your cholesterol. Regular checkups, tests and treatments can help you stay healthy. They can even help you live longer. How often you need care depends on your age, health, family history and lifestyle — like what you eat, how active you are and whether you smoke.

Taking time for regular checkups is one of the simplest ways to protect your health — now and in the future.
