RxSavingsPlus^® for non-covered drugs: New for 2027

Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, G.E.H.A health plan members will have access to the RxSavingsPlus^® for Non-Covered Drugs Program, designed to help reduce the cost of certain prescription medications that are excluded from plan coverage.

What is RxSavingsPlus?

RxSavingsPlus is a prescription discount program offered to G.E.H.A members at no additional cost to them. This program is administered by CVS Caremark and provides discounted pricing on eligible medications that are considered plan exclusions. The program is not insurance and does not change your prescription drug coverage. Instead, it offers members access to pharmacy discounts on certain non-covered medications.

• No enrollment or membership fee
• Discounts up to 80% on generic medications and up to 40% on brand-name medications compared to standard retail cash prices
• Available at participating retail pharmacies nationwide
• G.E.H.A members pay the discounted price directly to their pharmacy

Important to know

RxSavingsPlus applies only to plan-excluded medications.

• Plan exclusions are medications or categories of medications that are specifically excluded from coverage. Examples of excluded medications include:
• Sexual health medications
• Hair growth and loss treatments
• Certain eye care medications
• Select health devices and supplies
• Medications for cosmetic purposes

Medications purchased through the program remain non-covered and do not count toward deductibles or other pharmacy benefit accumulations. Members may still pursue any available coverage review or exception processes through G.E.H.A.

How to access the program

To access the program, simply present a valid prescription and your G.E.H.A ID card at a Network Retail Pharmacy. For additional questions, call CVS Caremark at 1-844-443-4279.
