Earning rewards
As a G.E.H.A FEHB (High, Standard, HDHP) or G.E.H.A PSHB (Standard, HDHP) member, engaging in healthy behaviors earns financial rewards through the Health Rewards program.
Get started by completing your online Health Assessment on the G.E.H.A Well-being Platform. Once complete, you will receive a reloadable debit card from HealthEquity in the mail. This card can be used to cover qualified medical expenses, such as copayments for medical, dental and vision services.1 Your reloadable debit card can also be used to cover the cost of over-the-counter products at many major retailers. As you continue completing rewardable activities, funds will be loaded automatically onto your rewards card. For more information, see Spending rewards below.
You can earn up to $250 annually per subscriber and covered spouse. Maximum reward amounts are not guaranteed. Download our Health Rewards QuickStart Guide (PDF) to learn more.
For a personalized list of available reward offerings, visit the MyG.E.H.A portal and click "Rewards."
1 For HDHP members with a health savings account (HSA), annual deductible must be met to use Health Rewards for medical expenses. Health Rewards may be used for dental and vision services prior to meeting the deductible.
Spending rewards
G.E.H.A FEHB (High, Standard, HDHP) or G.E.H.A PSHB (Standard, HDHP) members with a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) may spend available rewards on all 213(d) qualified expenses — such as eyeglasses or contacts, orthodontics, doctor visits and dental care — using your HealthEquity reloadable debit card.2
High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) members (FEHB and PSHB) with a health savings account (HSA) may use available rewards on qualified dental and vision care expenses until they meet their deductible. Once your HDHP plan deductible has been met, then all eligible medical and pharmacy expenses qualify too.2
Use your Health Rewards reloadable debit card from HealthEquity to pay for eligible services through your health care provider as well as stores and pharmacies with an Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS) checkout system. IIAS checkout systems automatically verify if an item is a qualified expense. For the latest list of IIAS approved merchants, visit sig-is.org and select the store locator. You can also review a list of 213(d) qualified medical expenses to better understand the many ways you can use your rewards.2
To submit a claim for reimbursement on expenses that do not automatically verify, please register your account with HealthEquity.

There are five scenarios in which your Health Rewards account will terminate:

- Your Health Rewards account has been inactive for 24 consecutive months. If there is no spending activity in your account for 24 months, the account will be closed. You can keep your account active by using your available rewards balance.
